The Loyola spring hockey program will be open to all non-seniors who currently skate for Loyola, all incoming 8th grade players and transfer players who will be trying out for a Loyola team in the fall of 2010. Each of the Loyola teams will be playing in the Illinois Spring Hockey League administered through the Skokie Park District. The season will run from April 5th to June 13th.
Fees per player are $590 for skaters and $440 for goalies.
1st evaluation skate March 12 7:10pm @ Heartland
2nd evaluation skate March 13 7:55pm @ Glenview

Girls High School Spring Hockey 2010:
3-on-3 GAMES, 1 hour each.
At least 6 teams will be participating
Limited practices TBD
One Game per week on Sundays for six weeks.
Approximate times are 4:30-5:30pm; 5:40-6:40pm; 6:50-7:50.
Heartland Ice Arena training ice.
Current 8th grade players and 2009 Graduates are eligible to play.
Fee: TBD
First games: Sunday, April 11.
Season Ends: Sunday, May 23.
No hockey on Mother’s Day (May 9th)
All players must be USA Hockey registered. Players already registered for the 2009-2010 season are registered through the spring season.

Girls v New Trier SilverSunday, 07 March 20103/7/2010 - The girls' hockey team defeated New Trier Silver 8-1 in quarter final action of the state playoffs. They were lead by a three goal, one assist performance by Simone Gruber. Also contributing in the win were Julia Cowan 2 goals, 1 assist, Domenica Blasucci and Hillary Marshall with a goal and an assist each, and Meredith Cerney with a goal . Adding assists were Ellie Gruber (3), Jen Slaski (2), Caroline Wright and Nina Puch with an assist each. Goalie Katie O'Grady was in net letting in only one goal. The girls will face Naper Valley Sunday at the Edge in Bensenville in a Semi-Final Match at 12:25 pm. The winner will go on to the State Finals at the United Center.

Maroon v Bartlett HawksSunday, 07 March 20103/6/10 Loyola Maroon closed out the 2009-2010 season on a high note with a 4-2 win over the Bartlett Hawks. After a scoreless first period, the Ramblers found themselves playing 3 on 5 midway through the second. Loyola was able to kill the first penalty, but Bartlett found the net with a power play goal with 6:25 remaining. Two minutes later, with the Ramblers on a power play, Jack Doyle snuck in from the blue line, took a sweet cross ice pass from Marco Federow and sniped it home to tie the game at one. Bo Murray was also credited with an assist on the play. Midway through the third with the Ramblers again on the power play, Chris Nardi stole a clearing attempt by the Hawks and scored unassisted to give Loyola the lead. Charlie Widmar tallied an insurance goal one minute later, the lone 5 on 5 goal of the contest, with help from Murray and Gavula. In the final minute, with the Ramblers on the penalty kill and the Hawks skating six, Bartlett closed the gap to 3-2. LA Girls HockeyFriday, 05 March 2010Congratulations goes out to Seniors Julia Cowan, Jen Slaski, Juniors Caroline Wright and Katie O'Grady and Sophmores Ellie and Simone Gruber for being selected to theCHICAGO METRO GIRLS JAMBOREE 2010. They will playing in a game Saturday at 4:30pm at Heartland Arena.

HIT Championship GameThursday, 04 March 2010CONGRATULATIONS TO GOLD FOR WINNING THE HIT CHAMPIONSHIP!Gold played Stevenson on Wednesday 3/3/10 in the HIT Championship game. Gold came out strong in the first period with a goal from Corey Shepherd assisted by Steve Wedekind and Eric Hagman. Later in the period Patrick Veech followed with an unassisted goal. Gold went into the second period with a 2-0 lead. Michael Scholl scored in the second period with an assist from Kevin Turro and Louie Morici. Louie Morici put another one on the boards with an assist from Patrick Veech to end the second period with a 4 - 0 lead. Gold held Stevenson through the third period with about a minute left when Stevenson was able to sneak one by and score a goal. The final score was 4 - 1. Mack Scarzynski was in the net for the win.
